International Revolutionary Day

International Revolutionary Day marks the anniversary of the assassination of Chairman Fred Hampton Sr. and Defense Captain Mark Clark on December 4, 1969. Convened by the POCC and the December 4th Committee (chaired by Comrade Mother Akua Njeri), the commemoration begins at 12:00 noon at 2337 West Chairman Fred Hampton Way (formerly Monroe and Western), Chicago — Ground Zero.

At noon Chicago time, all forces worldwide are called to stop activities and maintain a five-minute moment of silence with a clenched fist in the air. The day features a silent vigil, speeches, cultural programming, and Comrade Mother Akua Njeri's account of that night.
